About Counselling

What is counselling?
Talking therapy, which allows you to discuss your problems and difficult feelings in a safe place.
Together we can explore your thoughts.
I’m not here to sit you down and tell you what to do. What I will do is encourage you to talk about what is bothering you and help you find a way of coping.

  • I will ask the right questions.
  • Each session is all about you.
  • The offering of a safe place to share is sometimes all it takes.
Counselling is a journey which can sometimes be difficult to navigate. I am with you every step of the way.

If you have decided to try counselling, you might feel anxious about your first session.  Making the decision to get help and address issues you are facing is an important first step and should be commended.

I don’t have a magic wand, nor do I wear a Super Hero cape, flying in to save the day. But, if you are struggling with any of the following I may just be able to help you make sense of it.

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bereavement
  • Relationships
  • Life!
Although I am qualified and skilled to work with a range of presenting issues, my specialist areas are baby loss & Children & Young people’s mental health. These are both areas which I am extremely passionate about.

Having experienced first-hand the devastation of baby loss and subsequent rainbow pregnancies I fully understand just how hard it is to find the strength to carry on. All of your hopes and your future plans cruelly taken from you.

It’s a very different type of bereavement as you have very few memories, only what ifs, and days of wonder.
I get it, I understand….because I felt like that too.

The mental health and well-being of children and young people, along with the impact this has on their families and it is my mission to provide a voice for those that may go unheard.
